Avaj Elite Bentonite Mine

By conducting chemical studies using XRF and mineralogical studies using XRD, the main minerals constituting the mineral material in these mines have been identified as illite and bentonite. Given the high percentage of alkaline compounds, these minerals possess a very low melting point. The examination of physical properties indicates high raw and dry strength, suitable plasticity, high shrinkage, along with virtually zero water absorption, and an olive color after firing.
